TIGHT SQUEEZE - GOOD WEEKEND MAGAZINE

Some shots from a great article by Melissa Fyfe 'Tight Squeeze' for The Age Good Weekend Magazine. All about building and living in small spaces. First, architect Michael Ropers studio apartment in the Cairo Building. Second, Marika Neustupny and Nigel Betram's home in Fitzroy.

NICHOLSON STREET STUDIOS - DESKS AVAILABLE!

We have renovated our warehouse on Nicholson Street in Brunswick East and have desks available for rent. It's an open plan space (as you can see in the pics below). Desks can be for sitting or standing - they're fast to adjust to the desired height. We are on the NBN - whoop! We have air conditioning and heating, a monitored alarm system and 24 hour access. We also have a microwave, a fridge, an urn, an oven and a sandwich press - all the mod cons.

We're keen to get a wide variety of interesting, friendly people into the space who'll enjoy each others company and be interested in each others work. So far we have me (photographer) my husband Ben Baldwin (who has a woodwork studio on the other side of the big white wall) Steph and Doron from Homecamp, and Erin and Andrew who run 99 Productions.

We are situated right near Pope Joan which is handy if you like excellent coffee, the best chai in Melbourne and very tasty foods. Also a short walk away is Carolina (another lovely cafe) and our favourite bakery Natural Tucker. There's also a little independent supermarket plus a post office and lots of other handy shops.

Desks start at $480 a month inclusive of all utilities. We ask for one months rent as bond and that you bring your own contents and liability insurance. Desk layout not yet finalised - we're going to have a play with that as we get more people in!

Please email me with a little bit of info about yourself if you are interested in coming in to check out our space and have a chat!
